Admit Card

You can now log in to your application form and generate your Admit Card.

There is no photograph or signature required for the Admit Card. You will have to carry a print out of the Admit Card to the Test Centre along with a photo-identity card. The photo-identity card can be a government issued document like an Aadhar card or passport, or a school/college identity card, or a letter attested by your school/college/employer.
Entrance examination format
As in recent years, the exam is being conducted using the TCS iON platform. For security reasons, the question paper will be distributed in electronic form to all centres. Each candidate will be seated at a separate computer and will be able to read the questions on the screen.

In all the exams, Part A consists of objective questions that have to be answered directly on the computer.
An answer booklet will be provided to write your answers on paper for the remaining parts, as usual.
The format of each type of answer booklet is given below. Designated space is provided for each answer. There are blank sheets for rough work at the end. Please familiarize yourself with the format of the answer booklet for the exam you are going to write.

Entrance examination schedule
The entrance examinations will be held on Sunday, 19 May, 2024 at designated exam centres at the following locations.
Agartala, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Durgapur, Goa, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Indore, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Kolkata, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Silchar, Siliguri, Srinagar, Tiruchi, Trivandrum, Visakhapatnam
The exact locations of the centres are provided in the Admit Cards.
All entrance examinations will be conducted in a single afternoon session, starting at 14:00. The MSc/PhD Mathematics and MSc/PhD Computer Science exams will end at 17:00. The BSc and MSc Data Science exams will end at 17:30.
Applying to multiple MSc/PhD programmes

You can apply to at most one of the three PhD programmes: PhD Mathematics, PhD Computer Science and PhD Physics.

If you apply for PhD Mathematics or PhD Computer Science, you must write the entrance exam for that programme.

For PhD Physics, there is no separate entrance exam. You can only apply if you have written JEST-2021. You cannot apply to any other programmes in combination with PhD Physics.

You can apply for PhD in Mathematics in combination with MSc Mathematics. There is a common entrance exam for both categories. You cannot apply to any other programme in combination with PhD Mathematics.

You can apply for PhD in Computer Science in combination with MSc Computer Science. There is a common entrance exam for both categories. You cannot apply to any other programme in combination with PhD Computer Science.

You can apply to any combination of the three MSc programmes: MSc Mathematics, MSc Computer Science and MSc Data Science.
The combination that you can apply for depends on entrance examination that you have to chosen to write.

If you have selected the MSc Mathematics entrance examination, you can apply to all three MSc programmes..

If you have selected the MSc Computer Science entrance examination, you can apply to MSc Computer Science and MSc Data Science, but not to MSc Mathmatics.

If you have selected the MSc Data Science entrance examination, you can only apply to MSc Data Science.
If you apply to multiple MSc programmes, you will be short-listed based on your performance in the exam that you write and called for an interview for the other programmes.
